During our stay in Budapest, we went out one evening for the purpose of enjoying the view of Buda with the Palace lit up at night from the Pest side. To do this, we got on Line 2 Metro and got off at the “Parliament” station where we came across this statue.
As soon as I saw it, I thought, “Hachiko“!

According to this, the guy behind the dog is “Tiresias” in Greek mythology who was a blind prophet. Does that make the dog a seeing-eye dog or is it also part of the mythology…?? Sorry, I’m too ignorant to know…
