The international airport in Budapest is called Budapest Liszt Ferenc International Airport “Listzt Ferenc” being “Franz Liszt” as most of us know him in the east and the west. (It is interesting to note that Hungarian names take the same form as Japanese names with the family name coming first and the given name second.) And this year happens to be a “Liszt year” marking the composer’s 200th birthday.
Other notable Hungarian composers I know would be Bartók and Kodály but Liszt by far seems to be the most prominent and cherished by many.
