Trier Eats

24 09 2017

From my day trip to Trier, Germany on one August day.

Wasn’t planning to but how can I pass a soft-serve?!

Local sparkling wine @ a pop-up shop in the middle of the main square. Wine manufacturers apparently take turns setting up shop throughout the year. All wines extremely reasonably priced.

Fast forward to the end of the day in Trier. Before returning to Luxembourg City, needed properly to try some local wines. This was a very good choice.

The restaurant had two separate rooms and entrances. This looked more like the front and was much more modern.  I was in the “back” room.

I did not know this was happening and had no plans to attend but I happened to walk by the event on its opening day and was pleased to join in the fun.

Random Berlin, Random Cannes

I realized I didn’t have a lot of random shots that I hadn’t already used on my past posts from my recent business trip to Berlin, Germany and Cannes, France. A few here…

Dining Out in Berlin with Antje

19 06 2016

Antje is one of my very good friends I met through work years ago.  She lives in Berlin and I visited her a couple of summers back while on holiday.

This time, I saw her to ask for help with work, suggestions and recommendations in the German market.  The meeting went on for good hour and a half after which time we headed out for a bite to eat.

Antje always takes me to restaurants with a twist.

This is actually part of a club next door to the restaurant in the same complex.

My Wiener Schnitzel was fabulous and huge.

Breakfasting in Manila

2 01 2015

Going back to my end-of-year Filipino trip, here are my breakfast experiences on the first two days of my stay in Manila, in the Makati neighborhood.

The first morning I wanted to do a typical Filipino breakfast and found a cafe featuring local dishes attached to a nearby museum that seemed most promising for good food.  I asked my hotel how best to get there and was advised to go through the Ayala Triangle Gardens.

Loved my “US belly beef garlic tapa”.

The second morning I decided to do a non-Filipino breakfast at another popular cafe two doors down from my hotel.

My German pancakes were to die for with divine vanilla custard-fresh cream filling and homemade strawberry jam.  Very pleasantly surprised by the level of cooking.  The pastries and breads in the shop looked very very good as well.
