Iranian Style Dining

11 10 2012

Went to see a documentary film called Iranian Cookbook, shot by Iranian director Mohammad Shirvani last week at the Iwanami Hall.

My friend and I naturally wanted to eat Iranian/Persian afterwards and on we went to Yanaka between Sendagi and Nippori, in the old part of Tokyo where we wanted to try an Iranian restaurant we hadn’t tried yet.

Never Let Me Go

1 04 2011

I read the novel by Kazuo Ishiguro in 2007 and loved it.  Went to see the film last night.

It’s a scary story when you think about it but it’s also warm.  I have to go back to the book again to see if the film has done justice.  The author seems to think so so it must have though with novel-based films, the novel is almost always better.

Cast Me If You Can

3 12 2010

A film by Atsushi Ogata who is a friend of a friend.  Quirky.  And we need better actors!

As with the trailer, the entire film was English sub-titled.
