Fuji Rock Festival 2014

31 07 2014

This year’s Fuji Rock Festival, the three-day music extravaganza, was held this past weekend in the ski resort of Naeba.  I went for the final day, Sunday, July 27, when the weather, unlike the first two days when it was sunny and very hot and humid, turned wet and windy but which made being at the outdoor festival bearable w/o the scorching sun and being wrapped in humidity.

Definitely overcast!

Definitely overcast!

Until next year…

An African Birthday

14 10 2012

It was close to my birthday so this around-the-world-eating-tour-in-Tokyo gathering in the first week of October was to be a celebration, a feast, which it turned out to be.

One of us has traveled in Kenya years ago which to me is like WOW.  Our world-cuisine-eating-out group has not done much with the African theme except for northern Africa such as Egypt and Morocco simply for the fact that there are not many restaurants specializing in the African cuisine in Tokyo.   If they do, they would be covering a very big area.  We prefer to keep each of our outings as region-specific as possible.

Safari in Akasaka is run by Ethiopian folks and the menu is a mixture, so we were told, and for what it is, we enjoyed our African moment.

What looks like fried chicken is fried crocodile.
