Due to the rain in Zagreb, Croatia during my stay I spent a lot of time indoors which involved some, more than I had planned I guess, shopping.
This old-fashioned department store had the air of days gone by from the Communist era in the way goods are displayed and what they are carrying. I took this on the last day in Zagreb when the weather had improved.
Apparently the building dates back to 1889 and it used to be a hotel.
Loved the ceiling.
I also visited this arcade known as the “Oktogon” not for shopping as there was zero of it but for the interior.
Not meant to be raining inside but yes, there are leaks.
Where the name comes from.
It’s very unfortunate that they don’t really maintain this place properly.
