The First Morning Walk in Luang Prabang, Laos

29 02 2016

While it is full of tourists, Luang Prabang is a relaxed town.  A village, a sleepy one perhaps, if it weren’t for the tourists.

It’s very clean and organized for a Southeast Asian town.  It feels wealthy even in non-tourist areas.  I’ve read that it is due to its being recognized as a World Heritage site.  Anyway, this is just a tiny portion of my first morning near where I was staying.

Breakfasting in Luang Prabang, Laos

28 02 2016

Arrived in the World Heritage town of Luang Prabang, Laos last night and checked in at a lovely boutique hotel that serves excellent breakfast.  Happy start of a brief get-away weekend.

The food tastes better than it looks.  The freshly-squeezed orange juice, the fruit bowl, the very good baguette with homemade jams, as well as the noodles – superb!!

Movies! in the Month of February, 2016!

26 02 2016

Last night was it for movies this month so here I go…

I wouldn’t say it was the best film of the month but it was certainly the scariest not just for the violence but also because I lived in Boston in the ’70s and to think that this was happening gave me chills.

Soft Served in February, 2016!

25 02 2016

It’s early, a few more days ’til the longer month of February ends, but I don’t think I will be having any more soft serves this month, so wrapping it up with just a couple.  ^^

Hawaiian Kona coffee. Very nice.

The ice cream is good ol' "milk" and it is glazed with a green tea sauce. On the bottom is a sweet potato cake with sweet red beans inside. The cake was a bit too dry which does not do justice to very good Japanese sweet potatoes.
