Tokyo Japanese Eats, August, 2015

6 09 2015

Instead of doing my usual wrap-up of sushi eats as there is little to be told, for the month of August, I’m doing one to include other Japanese dishes.  But to start, it’s sushi time again at my regular sushi joint.

First time for me to see edamame still on the branch. Interesting! Your regular sushi place looks amazing. I wanna eat some good sushi so bad!

I read on this site (http://www.anzuen.com/edamame/edamame-shu-kaku.html) that it is much more work for farmers to ship those on branches because they are quite thick and difficult to cut. But the leaves and the branches are supposed to keep the beans fresh by sending water and nutrients. They are good.

Interesting! So I guess they would be more expensive on the branch. But if the quality is better as well, it’s worth it.

In fact, yes! And it’s more work for you, too, but worth it!
