The Girls’ Day 2015

25 03 2015

March 3rd is the official and unofficial Girls’ Day in Japan.  Official because it has history and is celebrated by everyone young and not-so-young including ourselves mostly by displaying the Girls’ Day dolls but unofficial because it is not a public holiday like the Children’s Day which really means the “Boys’ Day” on May 5th.

Anyway, I was at my bestie’s mother’s on the day of for a lovely dinner and a birthday party added to it.

Here’s our feast.

And the birthday celebration.

At home for two years in a row I failed to display my dolls so on or about the 1st of March, I got this scroll out and hanged it on one of my doors (where it’s not supposed to be hanged but I don’t have a proper room for it).

I do, too. It does have this thing about marrying girls off in time but whatever!
