Lunching in Krakow #1

29 08 2014

It was past 3 pm when I got back to the city from a trip to the Auschwitz-Birkenau Memorial on my second day in Krakow, Poland.  It appeared and I had read that people ate lunch late which was the biggest meal of the day so I was in good timing.  Decided to hop over to a cafe with a bit of history in the middle of the main square of the Old Town to have something proper but not too heavy.

A nice view of St. Mary's Basilica.

It was a very hot day with the sun very much glaring but by the time I was finishing lunch (which was very delish) I saw that the staff at the cafe was taking cushions off the chairs outside and bringing them inside.  Sure enough it was getting noticeably darker and overcast.  Decided to quickly head back to the apartment, about ten minutes away, and as soon as I got back, it started to literally pour.

Phew.  Managed to stay dry during the storm.
