A New Zealand (Lamb) Night Out in Azabujuban

23 06 2014

My two good friends and I thought hard about which region to try after our Puerto Rican outing in April (which did not get fully reported but was included in my “April Eats in Tokyo” post) for our monthly world dining experience in and around Tokyo.

We found a restaurant in Azabujuban with a “lamb” theme managed by an importer of the meat exclusively from New Zealand and decided to go for it.

The sign "Cozy Table" is for the unrelated restaurant upstairs. "Wakanui" was our destination on the basement floor.

The restaurant offered a variety of lamb dishes including Moroccan, Italian, French, etc. but we tried to stick to simple grills.  The meat was tender and tasty.

There is also a sister restaurant nearby, simply called Wakanui.

The lamb, cheese and wines look delectable. Lucky girl! Delicious!

My friends and I are all huge fans of lamb though it’s not the most popular or very common meat in Japan (you have to know where to buy it).

Lamb is my favorite meat. I love the sweet flavor and richness. What is your favorite cut?
