Went out with a French-American couple friends living in Tokyo last night. I was asked to pick a restaurant so I chose this but it turned out that the restaurant part of the establishment was closed for a private function so we decided to go to its “wine bar” section where you can get the same food served in the restaurant.
When I arrived my friends were already there and I also realized that it was a “smoking” bar with the group sitting next to us smoking away.
We considered staying by moving tables but decided after one drink to change locations. The smoke bothered me a lot and my friend was eight-month pregnant.
We settled on another French restaurant nearby to which my friends had been and which I did not know about.
It is very inconspicuously located on the second floor of a fashion complex in one of the back alleys of Omotesando.
I was pleasantly surprised for the restaurant’s contemporary elegance and beauty with attentive but subtle service.
Wine pairing with dinner for me.
And the food was lovely.
