Trishaws in Malacca

One of the signature features of Malacca, Malaysia is the colorful, decorative, and sometimes loud trishaws that cruise around the busy streets giving rides to tourists.  “Rickshaws” or “trishaws” are available in other parts of the world including Japan, but I had never seen anything as elaborate as the Malaccan ones.

They are men drivers with the sort of decorations trying to attract women, in general, not always.

The majority seems to be men drivers with the sort of decorations that may attract women. Or not!

"Hello Kitty" is definitely the favorite character though every single one you can tell is unlicensed.

They do go out of their ways to decorate their wheels.  Some of them are louder than others blasting local traditional pop music or American hip hop having set up boom boxes at the rear of the ride.

Almost rode on one but decided against it at the end.
