When you live in central Tokyo, there are things that you may not realize have become the norm in people’s lives. Huge shopping malls in remote neighborhoods is one example and it seems that literally everyone who lives within a certain kilometer radius goes there on weekends. In the malls are American-style cinema complexes that sell American-size popcorns which, I don’t think, used to be part of our diet or our favorite snack.
In any event, I am trying to learn who goes there, what people do and buy and how they spend their time in some of these malls and somewhat going out of my way to visit as many of them as possible while checking out the movies as well.
