Here is a recap of my musical events in the month of October.
I have seen Bobby Caldwell perform many times in jazz clubs but this show was at a very nice concert hall called Mozart Hall in the Katsushika Symphony Hills. A great songwriter and a performer.
The Steve Gadd Band @ the Blue Note Tokyo. How amazing is Steve Gadd when he performs as other people’s drummer but he is extra extraordinary in his own band. A great experience.
A lovely Canadian chanteuse, Emilie-Claire Barlow, jazzing it away at the Cotton Club.
The ultimate hard rock/metal festival in Japan, Loud Park, at the Saitama Super Arena. Was there over two days.
Ashanti @ Billboard Live Tokyo. Got to hear some good new songs from the forthcoming album.
Virtuoso classical guitarist Yasuji Ohagi’s in-store performance at Yamaha Music Store in Ginza.
You cannot tell from the pic that this is a musical event but this was THE highlight of October for me. The Manhattan Transfer @ Billboard Live Tokyo on Friday, October 18.
