Eating in Cannes: Bistro les Canailles

Here is another bistro from Cannes which I chose and pre-booked from Tokyo for lunch with our good American business friend.  Again, it is where only the locals go and there was none of the convention people.  It has a very nice wine bar in the front of the shop and a dining area in the back.  It is in the same neighborhood as where I had rented two different apartments in the past both of which could be seen from the restaurant though I don’t think it existed back then.

My steak tartare was SO good as were the pommes frites.

Because coming to Cannes is an annual event at which I see people I know (and meet new people as well) and where I have made close friends, I always have some gift giving rituals with certain people.

What I have been given so far:-

From my Italian friend.

It’s the round ball-like object that was the gift. I think very Italian. 😀

From my German friend. And he is opening the gift I gave him.

Something from his home city of Aalen and his current place of residence, Berlin.

A gift from my nice real estate agent to enjoy in the apartment. Came with another bottle of red.

More precisely the restaurant at which we had dinner last Friday is in Le Cannet, just outside of Cannes.  Its being a Friday night, it was busy with dining locals.

Somehow I had never been to this big market in Cannes.  My friend took me there a couple of days ago and I loved it.  We were going to breakfast in the apartment but decided to get some fresh croissant and cafe au lait and sit by the market.

Eating in Cannes: Aux bons Enfants

I finally visited this very charming restaurant in Cannes this year.

You can reserve but they do not have a listed telephone number.  And it’s cash only.  The people are super nice.

Rosé wine is the thing to have in the south of France.
