Homemade Hummus

I love hummus but I never thought of making it myself until I saw this bag of dried chick peas on sale at a nearby supermarket.

I then went and bought a lovely cookbook dedicated to Turkish cooking, one of the three grand cuisines of the world.

Chick peas after being soaked – now they look more familiar.


Add some of that better oil.

I used peanut paste in lieu of what the recipe called for which was sesame paste (though they didn’t necessarily specify tahini).  In any event, it turned out to be great…
