I have one sushi joint to which I keep going back because sushi restaurants can be intimidating (the nature of the trade) for first time visitors and I tend to go back to the same one over and over again.
This past Friday, I tried a new one in Oimachi, so far away from where I live or my office, together with a friend who lives close by it. It was the most wonderful experience.
The very friendly master sushi chef believes that sushi joints should be entertaining and he was living up to his word. He prepared everything in front of your eyes including opening shellfish, dissecting fresh octopus, and cooking Japanese-style omelet. He is apparently very internet savvy and facebooks and tweets, which you generally do not expect from a sushi chef.
I shall be returning…
