Belated Mother’s Day Lunch

Wanted to do this a week ago Sunday but decent French restaurants in Tokyo tend to get extremely busy on the Mother’s Day especially for lunch and since I neglected to plan ahead, I gave up early the plan to do the Mother’s Day luncheon on the day and this past Sunday was it.

I chose an elegant and contemporary French restaurant run by a Japanese chef trained in Paris, including at a Michelin-starred establishment.  The food was lovely and the service pleasant but slightly awkward due to young Japanese waiters trying to “follow the manual” and not being able to improvise in responding to unusual questions my mother would throw at them. ^^
