Canal-side houses in Amsterdam are very charming but after a while you start noticing that the older, non-contemporary looking buildings are leaning this and that way.
How the house looks bulging is almost like a cartoon.
Tilting…
Crooked alignment.
You will see in the next photo that the house on right is really tilting.
Note how the street is in a straight line.
As to why this is so, I have found two different explanations…
