Dutch French Lunch

17 05 2012

This is from the day I went shopping in the museum district of Amsterdam.  I first meant to go to another restaurant that was highly rated in, I believe, the KLM inflight magazine, but due to the holiday week, it was closed on the day.  This brasserie was close by, looked nice from the outside, googled and checked that it was OK, so I went in.

Elegant decor.

I ordered a two-course menu. Every dish was paired with a recommended wine by the glass (if you chose to drink) and the wines were lovely.

My main dish – catch of the day – which was sole served with pieces of lobster, pasta, and the kind of Chinese cabbage we call “chingensai” in Japanese – a very unusual choice. It was exquisite.
