Eating in Vienna – the Ethnic Version

15 05 2011

If I’m travelling I always try to go for the local cuisine for every meal while in a particular country/region.  On my recent Viennese trip, there were a couple of happy exceptions – Croatian fish restaurant and Turkish.

Fresh fish in oceanless Austria! And we picked what we liked.

A variety of appetizers

My starter

What we picked. We also had lovely grilled scampi.

We could tell this one was somewhat Middle Eastern before we went in but wasn’t sure until we saw the menu exactly what it was – Turkish – which is in a way European/Asian.

Not sure if it's typically Turkish to have these on the table but they were pretty.

My Turkish pizza (which I don't think is normally round but it was sooooo goooood)

Humus and a spinach & yogurt dish
