Stupas in Bhutan

Chortens, as they call them in Bhutan, are plentiful in the land of the thunder dragon.

On the way from Paro Airport to Thimphu, you pass by these three stupas (somewhat hidden in the pic) built in Nepalese, Tibetan & Bhutanese styles.

108 chortens at the Dochula Pass at an altitude of 3050 m.

And there are miniature ones made by mixing clay and ashes of the dead.
